Abraham and Isaac
Just for your thoughts
Although Abraham and Isaac each personally received promises from God, the way they handled problems was different. Abraham was skilled at resolving problems quickly (quick decision) — whether it was the problem with Lot, the problem with Hagar and Ishmael, or the conflict with local kings, he confronted problems directly and overcame them successfully. But his son Isaac was not like that. When Abimelech, seeing that Isaac was blessed, grew jealous and told him to leave that place, Isaac immediately left and went elsewhere. Likewise, when there was a dispute with the shepherds of Gerar, he immediately left that place and moved elsewhere. His approach was: "As far as possible, live at peace with everyone."
A leader needs both of these qualities. Problems should not be allowed to fester and be left to dissolve on their own. At the same time, one should also try to be at peace with everyone. Even though they were father and son, Abraham and Isaac had different spiritual temperaments. It's a mistaken idea that leaders will approach problems in the same way. However, God leads each of them, that is how they will conduct themselves.
