Theology and doxology should never be separated

Theology and doxology should never be separated. There can be no doxology without theology. Worship of God without theology is bound to degenerate into idolatry.
At the same time, there should be no theology without doxology. True knowledge of God will always lead us to worship.
We must beware equally of an undevotional theology and of an untheological devotion. JOHN STOTT
