There is no relaxation in following God's commandments.
There is no relaxation in following God's commandments.
There is no relaxation in obeying the word of God.
The best example of this is the event in Saul's life.
The king of the people of Israel did not fully obey the commandments of God before he invaded the enemies first time, causing relaxation and disobeying them.
Examples of this can be found in the 13th chapter of 1 Samuel.
The Philistines gathered themselves together to fight with Israel, thirty thousand chariots, six thousand horsemen, and people as the sand which is on the seashore in multitude, and they came up and pitched in Michmash, eastward from Beth-aven.
Some Hebrews crossed the fords of the Jordan to the land of Gad and Gilead. Saul was still at Gilgal, and all the people followed him, trembling.
Burnt offerings should be offered to the Lord and then they should go to the battlefield. He was waiting for Samuel. But as said, the prophet Samuel did not come at the right time for offering the burnt offering to the Lord
On seeing this, some of his soldiers went back. So Saul was nervous.
So he himself offered the burnt offerings to the LORD. He may have thought that the prophet Samuel would not come.
'If my soldiers are gone, we will be defeated on the battlefield,' so he could have considered this an exception and offered burnt offerings to God.
The 3000 people who were already with him eventually came down to 600.
The Philistines were superior to the people of Israel in terms of armor.
Their weapon stockpile is very high.
All these circumstances caused Saul to change his mind.
Seeing the situation, he forgot the commandment of the Lord.
Yet this is a great sin in the sight of the Lord. The Lord commands that only the priest should pay the burnt offerings to God.
This rule should not be violated, no matter what the circumstances may be.
But Saul blamed the circumstances and broke those rules.
He was not a little nervous when the prophet Samuel heard about it.
Saul said, “When I saw that the people were scattering from me, and that you did not come within the days appointed, and that the Philistines had mustered at Michmash,
Now the Philistines will come down against me at Gilgal, and I have not sought the favor of the Lord.’ So I forced myself and offered the burnt offering.”
1 Samuel 13:11,12
He may have done this as an exception considering the circumstances, without realizing that what he did was contrary to God's commandments and without worrying a little.
But in this matter, the answer given by the prophet Samuel is important.
“You have behaved wisely! You have not kept the commandment which Jehovah your Lord has given you,” said the prophet Samuel.
Yes, there are no exceptions, no compromises, no relaxations in keeping the stores of God.
Our urgency or necessity is not an excuse for disobeying God's word.
With our brain knowledge, we cannot ask for an exemption.
The price he paid for this disobedience was very high.
Maybe we should take pity on Saul. The Lord turned away from him. The kingdom was taken away from him. It can be assumed that in our view the punishment of the Lord is excessive. But God's vision is different.
In short, obedience is superior to our ministry.
We cannot relax God's rule.
But it is in God' hand
