It prevents us from doing God's will.
One of the basic attributes of God is that He is faithful to those who seek Him.
God is always faithful.
Its explanation is that he does not let down those who believe in him.
But unbelief challenges the character of that God. Our adversary, Satan, will tell us that God has abandoned us when we face problems, crises, dangers, and when we are abandoned by everyone.
He will say that there is no further future for us. Everything is over.
He will make us fear that our spiritual life is over.
But when we firmly believe in that basic characteristic that God is faithful, unbelief will never appear in us.
6,03,548 people of Israel died in the wilderness without entering the Canaan because of this unbelief.
They did not believe His trustworthiness that God would take them to Canaan.
At first, they doubted God's promise.
That was the beginning of their downfall.
Because they completely believed what the ten leaders told them.
They rebelled against God because they did not believe in God's promise and God's protection in the past and were afraid of the scenes they had seen in the wilderness. As a result, all the people who rebelled in 40 years of wilderness life died.
Next, unbelief prevents us from doing God's will. If the Jews had believed God's promise without doubt, they would have done God's will and reached Canaan.
That unbelief kept them from doing God's will.
In the same way, when we do not believe in God, many times we deviate from God's will and fail to fulfill God's plan in our lives.
As the Scripture says, it is impossible to please God without faith.
First doubt turns to disbelief.
Unbelief eventually turns into rebellion against God.
So if the poisonous seed of doubt is nipped in the bud, the life of faith will wither.
