அப்போஸ்தலன்

*அப்போஸ்தலன்’ என்ற சொல் ஒவ்வொரு கிறிஸ்தவரையும் குறிக்க பயன்படுத்தப்படும் ‘விசுவாசி’, ‘பரிசுத்தவான்’, அல்லது ‘சகோதரன்’ போன்ற பொதுவான சொல் அல்ல. இது ஒரு விசேஷமான சொல்; உயிர்த்தெழுந்த கிறிஸ்து தனிப்பட்ட முறையில் நியமித்த பன்னிருவருக்கும், மேலும் ஒருவருக்கோ இருவருக்கோ மட்டும் ஒதுக்கப்பட்டிருந்தது.

The word ‘Apostle’ was not a general word which could be applied to every christian like the words ‘believer’ , ‘saint’,or’ brother’.
This was a special term reserved for the twelve and for the one or two others whom the risen Christ had personally appointed.
There can be no apostolic succession, other than a loyalty to the apostolic doctrine of the New Testament.
The apostles had no successors.
*In this case, no one could succeed them.
They were unique.*
