Four truths we should know about devil's false teachings
Colo. 2nd chapter
1. Knowledge of who Jesus Christ is
(Colossians 2:3,9,10)
2 What He Has Done for Us (2:13-15)
3 Who we are (2:10, 12)
4 What we must do (2:6,7)
If we read and prayerfully meditate on the entire letter to the Colossians, we will not fall prey to Satan's tricks and lose our wager.
The second chapter of this letter is significant. Deep truths and many secrets are found in this chapter that we cannot grasp.
Colossians is a warning letter to the churches today.
Two of the best verses of this chapter are verses 9 and 10.
You are complete in Him, who is the head of all [principality] and power.
Colo 2:10
Yes, in Christ we are complete.
We can see the reason for this in verse 9.
In Him dwells all the fullness of the Godhead [a]bodily;
NKLV
Christ, all the fullness of the Deity lives in bodily form.
NIV
Col 2:9,10.
Even after reading it so many times, we cannot properly understand the depth of these two verses.
"Paul gives one of the most sublime and unmistakable verses in the Bible on the deity of the Lord Jesus Christ." William McDonald.
We are complete in Christ.
We have to trust the all-sufficiency of Christ.
We have everything we need for our holiness, righteousness, wisdom, and way of life.
We can get it for free.
My only regret is that this truth has not been preached more deeply in the churches, especially in the Pentecostal churches.
If these teachings had been taught deeply—the teaching about taking away, adding, celibate life is superior, teaching about clothes, teaching about days of worship rather than worship—all these would not have been followed beyond the limit. This is my humble opinion.
If we understand these 4 truths, we will not be deceived by Satan.
"What a great truth!
What a great declaration!
What a great affirmation!
What a great exhortation!"
