Compromise is one of Satan’s greatest devices
Just for your thoughts.
"Compromise is one of Satan’s greatest devices." — W. Wiersbe
Uniqueness is a possession that God has given us.
The success and failure of the Israelites were determined by this very principle.
When they first began to have relationships with the Moabite women, they lost their distinctiveness.
That was the first place where they embraced compromise.
We too should never compromise in the teachings or lifestyle that Christ has entrusted to us.
Compromise in holiness.
Compromise in honesty.
Compromise in ministry.
Compromise in morality.
Compromise in maintaining separation from worldly people.
Compromise in staying away from politics.
Compromise in prayer.
Compromise in reading the Word of God.
Compromise in treating everyone equally.
Compromise in honoring God’s children.
Compromise in caring for the poor.
Compromise in appreciation.
Compromise in condemning sin.
Compromise in dealing justly with our children.
Compromise in dividing property.
Compromise in giving to God.
In all these ways, the church today has fallen into the devil’s subtle snare of compromise.
Those who compromise God’s doctrines and ministries for worldly comforts, opportunities, and riches can never be pleasing to God.
In the Bible, those who accomplished great things for God were people who refused to compromise in their divine calling.
Moses never compromised in his zeal for his people.
Even when God said He would make a great nation out of him, he rejected that offer.
David never compromised in his zeal to build the Lord’s temple.
Though God did not allow him to build it, he prepared everything necessary for its construction.
Barnabas did not compromise in the mission he undertook.
He never compromised to the idea that Paul was better suited for the Gentile mission than himself.
Even when Peter opposed him, Paul never compromised the gospel that God had revealed to him.
We could go on and on with such examples.
May the Lord grant us the grace to stand firm like them and resist the devil’s trap of compromise!
