Oracles of Balaam.
For your thought:
Oracles of Balaam.
What are the God's prophecies of Balaam?
What lesson does it teach us?
Although thousands of people are mentioned in the bible, there is one mysterious person who is the most misunderstood, and that is Balaam.
There can be no other false prophet in the New Testament who was as harshly criticised by men of God as Balaam.
This Balaam was severely criticised by the greatest apostles like Peter, John and Judas.
The most mysterious character in the Bible is Balaam.
But God took this Balaam in HIs hands and used his mouth to give a great message to the people of Israel and to us.
That's why I have recorded it as "Oracles of Balaam"in this article.
Let's look at his first oracle.
He was not a Jew.
He was son of Beor to Pethor on the banks of the Euphrates.
Numbers 22:5
He was a soothsayer.
Balak hired him to curse Israel.
But God used his mouth to prophesy concerning Israel.
The Lord put a word in Balaam's mouth and said to him, "Go back to Balak and speak like in this manner "
Numbers 23:5
'''I see a people who live apart and do not consider themselves one of the nations”
Numbers 23:9
.
The people of Israel did not live together with others and lived alone.
Yes the people of Israel were God's chosen people but they were a people separated from other ethnic groups.
This is their uniqueness and their strength.
In the same way, God is pleased with us as long as we, separated by God, preserve our identity so that we do not conform to the world.
When we lose our uniqueness we lose our power.
We are called to protect our uniqueness whether it is in the church or in our personal lives.
While we need to protect our individuality, we should not be isolated from other people. Be separated but not isolated.
We should be seen together with the people of the world in matters of common cause while preserving our identity in our worship, holiness, and faith.
we should never associate ourselves with politics. We must know about politics but we should avoid political involvement.
Compromising with the world is the doctrine of Balaam
That is his teaching.
Balaam's oracle should be followed. Ignore his teachings. May the Lord be Glorified.
