The second oracle of Balaam
The second time God used Balaam to prophesy to the people of Israel and God's church.
Then the Lord met Balaam, and put a word in his mouth, and said, “Go back to Balak, and thus you shall speak.” Numbers 23:16
These are the words of Balaam.
1.“He(God) has not observed iniquity in Jacob,
Nor has He seen wickedness in Israel.
The Lord his God is with him,
And the shout of a King is among them.
2.he hath as it were the strength of an unicorn
Numbers 23:22
3.For there is no sorcery against Jacob,
Nor any divination against Israel.
4.He(Balaam) said, "That people rises like a lioness,
And lifts itself like a lion;
It shall not lie down until it devours the prey,
And drinks the blood of the slain.”
Numbers 23:21-34
Though prophecy was addressed to the people of Israel
but it also speaks to the Church today
The spiritual lessons for the Church
1.God will punish us for our sins.
But our spiritual life rests on His election
before the foundation of the world. We are predestined by God.
The church is the people of God, a very special people, saved by His grace.
2.Our spiritual strength cannot be measured. It is the power that God gives us that we can overcome all the powers of Satan.
3. God has delivered us from the power of darkness, and translated us into the kingdom of His dear Son. We are no more under the domain of Satan.
Satan cannot possess us through divination and sorcery
4.No power can stop the plan of God in our life.
The royal majesty that we are citizens of the kingdom of heaven should be found in every believer.
A defeated devil cannot destroy the will of God in our life .
Satan can win the battle. But we will win the war.
