Satan's first lie and first false promise

Do you know what Satan's first lie and first false promise were?
1. The First Lie:
"You will not surely die."
(Genesis 3:4)
This was Satan’s first lie — and it is the one that led all of humanity into sin.
The first person to believe this lie was Eve.
She trusted the lie and was deceived.
Satan, not wanting mankind to rule over the earth — the very world they were meant to inherit and govern —
gained his greatest victory through this very first deception.
He first sowed doubt, invested lies into the human heart,
and reaped a bountiful harvest of destruction.
2. The Next Lie:
"You will be like gods."
Instead of believing the word of the Lord,
Eve believed both lies that Satan spoke one after the other —
which laid the foundation for a great fall.
The second lie, “You will be like gods”,
continues to flourish in many religions today.
Man can never become God.
Creation can never become the Creator.
Yet the world continues to follow this deception of Satan.
Many other belief systems preach this very same lie.
3. The First False Promise:
Here, Satan didn’t just tell a lie —
he also made a huge, false promise to Eve.
This was Satan's first false promise.
Eve believed that promise.
If only, for a moment, she had stopped to think —
if she had consulted her husband Adam —
she could have avoided this great fall.
But Satan deceived her when her husband was not with her.
Likewise, when we lose our connection with our Heavenly Bridegroom, Jesus Christ,
when we drift away from unity with Him,
Satan is always ready to use that moment to deceive us.
So we must guard our relationship with our Bridegroom, Jesus Christ,
daily — with our eyes and hearts fully alert.
Satan prowls around like a roaring lion,
looking for someone to devour — 24 hours a day.
So let us ask the Lord for grace,
that we may stay far from Satan’s lies and his false promises.
Eve, who believed Satan’s first lie and first false promise —
Eve, who was deceived —
is a great warning for us
