.
Abraham, Isaac, Jacob. Even though Isaac lived for 180 years, very few things are said about him in the Bible. (Only two chapters)
He was the patriarch who understood God's revelation, God's will, only at the last moment.
He was not seen as a good, honest, and impartial family man.
He loved Esau with partiality.
And Isaac loved Esau because venison was to his taste.
Gen 25:28 He loved him for his meager food.
At least at the time of his death,
If he had received God's revelation through his wife, Rebekah, that is, the firstborn will serve the younger, he would not have called Esau and said, "Prepare your food well, and I bless you."
If he had acted on God's will from his wife Rebekah, he would not have had his wife Rebekah deceived her other son into lying against him and asking him to seek his blessings.
But God's eternal plan was for Isaac and Jacob.
But he did not take back his blessings. ("I have blessed him, and he will be blessed"; Genesis 27:33)
Only in that issue does he know God's will and not turn away from it.
That is why his name was included in the list of heroes of faith.
Isaac's weaknesses.
As the head of a family, he failed to love his children impartially.
2. He did not know and act on God's will for his family till the very end of his life (Genesis 25:28).
3 He did not understand Esau, who sold his birthright.
He did not also rebuke him but supported him to the end. Hebrews 12:16
