SACRIFICIAL CHURCH OF ANTIOCH (Acts 13:1-4)
The church of Antioch was not only a grateful Church but it was also a sacrificial Church. Barnabas and Paul were eminent and gifted leaders in that church. Barnabas was sent from the church of Jerusalem to monitor and co ordinate the spiritual activities there. Because of him much people were added unto the church. Then Barnabas brought Saul to Antioch and both became pillars in the church of Antioch. They were everything to the church.
But when the Holy Spirit directed the church to separate Barnabas and Paul for missionary work, the church immediately yielded to the voice of Holy Spirit. The church was so sensitive to the voice of Holy Spirit. It was ready to sacrifice its two great leaders for the sake of God’s kingdom in other un - reached areas.
No wonder their believers were first called “Christians”. What a glorious church!
But in Tamil Nadu the church leaders leave no stone un turned to suppress the missionary zeal inspired by the Holy spirit. They never leave the gifted and talented people for missionary work. They never allow missionaries to minister in their Church. They will not contribute liberally to the works in un reached areas. Generally the Church in Tamil Nadu is so insensitive to the voice of Holy spirit and enormous needs of needy people.
